Karjala Pitkäranta avustusyhdistys ry is a volunteer-run relief association in Helsinki. We support families in need, people displaced from their home regions, and the elderly of our community — and we keep the memory of Pitkäranta and Ladoga Karelia alive.

Who we are
A small association with a long memory.
Our members trace their families to Pitkäranta on the northern shore of Lake Ladoga. Out of that shared story of displacement grew a simple commitment: nobody in our community should face hardship alone. Today we bring practical help, company and dignity to families, older people and newcomers across Finland.

What we do
Practical help, steady company.

Humanitarian aid coordination
Collecting and distributing food, clothing and household goods to families in need, together with local partners.

Visits, phone friendship and help with everyday matters for older and isolated members.

Shared meals, guided walks and meetings where no one is a stranger.

Emergency assistance
Rapid, small-scale help when a household faces sudden crisis — fire, illness or loss.
