The Colegio Departamental de nutricionistas y dietistas de santa cruz is a registered non-profit professional medical association of nutritionists and dietitians in Bolivia. We exist so that every family — in the altiplano, the valleys and the lowlands — can reach a qualified nutrition professional, and so that every professional is trained, accredited and held to an ethical standard worthy of the people they serve.

We are member-governed, non-partisan and non-commercial. Our work is funded by member contributions, institutional grants and donations, and it is delivered free of charge to the communities who need it most.

Our Mission

To make qualified nutrition care ordinary, not exceptional.

We organise, train and represent the nutrition and dietetics profession in Bolivia, and we take nutrition science out of the clinic and into the neighbourhoods, schools and health posts where malnutrition, anaemia, obesity and diet-related chronic disease are actually decided. Every programme we run is measured by one question: did a person eat better, and live better, because of it?

Our Vision

A Bolivia where no child grows up hungry, and no adult grows sick from what is on the table.

We envision a country in which chronic child malnutrition and micronutrient deficiency are historical facts rather than daily realities; in which nutrition professionals are present in every hospital, municipality and school feeding programme; and in which the traditional Andean and Amazonian food heritage is recognised as one of the region's greatest public-health assets.

Programs & Activities

Four lines of work

01

Professional Registry & Ethics

We register, credential and support licensed nutritionists and dietitians, and uphold a binding code of professional ethics for clinical and community practice.

02

Continuing Education

Accredited courses, congresses and clinical workshops keep our members current in medical nutrition therapy, food safety and evidence-based dietetics.

03

Community Nutrition

Free screening days, growth monitoring and counselling for children, pregnant women and older adults in underserved highland and peri-urban communities.

04

Public Health Advocacy

We contribute technical evidence to national nutrition policy, food labelling debates and malnutrition-reduction strategies alongside health authorities.
