Community support for people living with diabetes

Governance & policy

Trust is part of good care

How we protect people, steward public-benefit resources and keep health education responsible.

Governance & health advocacy

The association is overseen by its elected committee and operates for non-commercial public-health benefit. The committee approves activities, reviews spending and manages conflicts of interest. Public and donated funds are recorded against their intended purpose; summary information is available on reasonable request.

Health advocacy is independent. Sponsors and suppliers may not direct educational content, select patient referrals or receive preferential access to members.

Privacy policy & GDPR

We collect only details needed to answer enquiries, administer membership or organize an activity. The legal basis may be consent, performance of a requested service, legal obligation or our legitimate nonprofit interest. We do not sell personal data.

Health information is sensitive personal data. Do not send medical records through the website. Where health details are genuinely needed, access is restricted and an appropriate lawful basis is documented. Data is retained only as long as necessary and protected with proportionate organizational safeguards.

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing, subject to legal limits. Contact us at the address or email shown on this site. You may also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

Medical disclaimer

This website provides general education, not medical diagnosis or treatment. Always follow advice from your qualified healthcare professional. Do not start, stop or change insulin, medication, diet or exercise solely because of information here. For emergencies in Czechia call 155 or 112.

Volunteer ethics & patient safety

  • Treat every participant with dignity, patience and equal respect.
  • Keep personal stories confidential and never photograph or identify someone without consent.
  • Offer peer support, not diagnosis, prescribing or pressure to change treatment.
  • Escalate safeguarding concerns and medical emergencies to the appropriate professional service.
